Hadwin Makes It 2 Wins In 2 Weeks For V Series

By September 9, 2014Headlines, Tour News

Callaway staffer Adam Hadwin added to Big Bertha V Series‘ quickly increasing win total on Sunday with his Web.com Finals victory at the Chiquita Classic. The new speed enhanced driver has already won on the European Tour tour as well, and in Chris Kirk’s Labor Day win at the Deutsche Bank Championship.

Here’s a look at some of the key equipment he used in his second Web.com win of the year:

Big Bertha V Series Driver (10.5-degree)
Apex Utility Iron (2-iron model)
Apex Pro Irons (5-9)
Mack Daddy 2 Tour Grind Wedges (52-degree and 60-degree)
A Callaway SR 3 Golf Ball
Odyssey Tank Cruiser V-Line Putter

His numbers were great too – he averaged 307.6 yards per drive this week (6th in the field), hit 75% of greens and ranked 5th in Putts Per GIR. Congratulations to Adam on another win!

English Moves To Lower Lofted V Series Driver

At the BMW Championship, Harris English moved into a lower lofted Big Bertha V Series Driver (9-degrees), he had been playing a 10.5-degree V Series model. He also changed to a Fujikura Pro shaft. Callaway Tour Rep, Mike Sposa said, “The main difference in the shaft is that the Fujikura is heavier with a softer handle. This helps him hit his patented fade easier.” Harris averaged 312.5 yards per drive on the week.

The Callaway/Odyssey staffer switched to a new putter as well – a Metal-X Milled #7. It’s an inch shorter (36.25″ finished to 35.25″ finished) to help get his eye plane more vertical. Odyssey Tour Rep, Johnny Thompson said, “This was done to help improve Harris’ ability to aim the putter when he gets into his setup. He looked much more confident over the ball and this change didn’t affect his stroke, it made his aim more efficient.”

Kirk Leads Callaway Staffers Into Tour Championship

Chris Kirk is still the FedExCup leader going into the final playoff event at the Tour Championship. He’ll be joined by fellow Callaway staffers Jim Furyk, Patrick Reed and Gary Woodland. Good luck to the guys on #TeamCallaway.
