17 Years, 9 Months and 7 Days. Lydia Ko Is The Youngest World #1 Ever.

By February 2, 2015Headlines, Tour News

Lydia Ko continues to rewrite the record books, and last weekend she added another milestone when she became the youngest player ever (male or female) to reach #1 in the world rankings. From everyone at #TeamCallaway, we want to congratulate her on this unbelievable achievement!

She made it to #1 at 17 years, 9 months and 7 days old, beating the previous record holder by almost 4 years. Wow! Lydia already has 5 Tour wins, she won the inaugural Race to the CME Globe last year, and she’s the youngest player ever to surpass $1 million and $2 million career earnings.

Here’s a look at some of the key equipment that’s helped Lydia get to #1 in the world:

Big Bertha Alpha 815 Double Black Diamond Driver (9-degree)
Apex Pro Irons (6-PW)
Mack Daddy 2 Tour Grind Wedges (54, 60)
Odyssey Tank Cruiser 330 Mallet
An SR 3 Golf Ball

She made her first start with the new Big Bertha Alpha 815 Double Black Diamond last week. Her gamer is set to a Draw directional bias and a Standard loft adjustability. We’re thinking it’s only a matter of time before she wins with the driver in her bag.

Congratulations to Lydia again on this amazing accomplishment! If you’re looking for more of the latest Callaway news, head on over to our news and media center.
