When you scan the full roster for this year’s FedExCup Playoffs you expect to see the usual suspects like Phil Mickelson, Henrik Stenson and Jim Furyk.
You can always pencil these guys in, sure. But take a closer look at the list of 125 players who qualified this year, and you’ll see that it’s loaded with young Callaway staffers, especially in the top half of the standings. And there are plenty of other great storylines.
Here are a few of our favorite trends for #TeamCallaway as we head into the final 4 events of the season:
We Have A Lot Of Guys In The Top 55: Furyk, Mickelson, Stenson, Tony Finau, Harris English, Pat Perez, Patrick Reed, Danny Lee, Kevin Kisner, Chris Kirk, Gary Woodland and Sang-Moon Bae are all up there.
Oh, To Be Young: Bae, Harris English, Kirk, P Reed, Danny “I can’t stop taking selifes” Lee, and Finau are all inside the top 45 on the current standings, and they’re all in their 20s.
And There Are Plenty More 30-and-under Staffers In The Playoffs: Ryo Ishikawa, Adam Hadwin, Colt Knost, Jason Korkak are all 30 or younger as well, and they’re all in the field this week in New York.
A Bunch Of Guys Are In Our New Drivers: Furyk (Great Big Bertha), English (Alpha 816), Phil (Alpha 816), Matt Every (GBB), Perez (GBB) all recently switched to our new drivers. It’s rare for players to move out of their gamers so close to the playoffs, but all of these guys like how the new drivers performed and put them into play.
And A Lot Of Our Guys Have Had Breakout Years: Kevin Kisner has had a career year with 3-runner up finishes. Lee is 10th in the FedExCup after capturing his first Tour win and staying hot through the summer.
And Finau has thrived in his rookie season and has moved up to 39th in the standings after contending in two majors. He told us all about when he stopped by for Callaway Live this week.
