The new XR 16 Driver is off to a fast start on Tour – a number of our best players have put it in the bag, they’ve picked up distance with it, and of course Danny Willett gamed it in his huge win in Dubai.
With so much good stuff going for the new driver, we’ve decided to highlight a few of our favorite storylines from this past weekend:
Danny Willett Puts It In Play, Wins The Very Next Week
How big was Danny’s win with the XR 16 Driver and Fairway Woods? He moved all the way up to No. 13 in the world rankings, moved into one of the top spots on the projected European Tour Ryder Cup team, put himself in great position for the Olympics, and jumped to 3rd in the Race to Dubai standings. That driver switch is working out quite nicely.
Stenson Is #1 on The European Tour
Speaking of the Race to Dubai, guess who’s #1? It’s world No.5 Henrik Stenson, and he moved to the top spot after putting an XR 16 Driver and two XR 16 Fairway Woods in the bag. Pencil him in for a big year in the Olympics, the WGCs, and the majors.

Lee Leads The Field In Driving Accuracy
Danny Lee has said that he loves the forgiveness of the new driver (seriously, he did…just listen below), which he first put in play at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions. He used it to finish 4th at the Waste Management, where he led the field in driving accuracy (80.4%) of fairways hit. Throw in the great weeks from Phil Mickelson (XR 16 Sub Zero) and Matt Every (XR 16) and you can see why we’re excited about everything that’s happening with this new driver.
