The new XR 16 Driver and Fairway Woods have been crushing it on Tour this year, and the world’s best players continue to put them into play. Heck, just last weekend Henrik Stenson, Freddie Jacobson and world #1 Lydia Ko all put new XR 16 woods in the bag.
Henrik’s New Best Friend/Fairway Wood
Stenson has been playing the driver and 3-wood since January, and at Bay Hill he switched into an XR 16 Pro Fairway Wood. According to our Tour Reps, he liked the ball speed and workability in testing, and he decided to put it in play for the event.
Lydia Moves Into An XR 16 Pro Driver
Our good friend Lydia Ko put in an XR 16 Pro Driver for the LPGA event last weekend, and she used it to post 22-under par for a solo 2nd place finish. She told our Tour Reps during range testing that she particularly liked how straight she hit it, and she hit over 83 percent of fairways during the event. Lydia obviously knows what she’s talking about! Maybe that’s why she’s the top ranked player in the world.
Freddie J Has A New Fairway Wood
Callaway staffer and golf beer aficionado Freddie Jacobson moved into an XR 16 Fairway Wood (14*) at Bay Hill. During testing, Freddie felt the high launch was what he was looking for, the spin was low, and the speed was up with this fairway wood. The deeper face was also a big help for when he wants to play it off the tee.
And as if all that wasn’t enough, we also had a great win on Sunday with Wesley Bryan’s breakthrough victory on the Web.com Tour. Our team is doing work, and it’s perfect timing with the season’s first major around the corner.
