Henrik and Phil Are Putting On An Amazing Show At Royal Troon
We’ve been treated to a world-class showdown this week at Royal Troon, and after 54 holes it looks like Phil Mickelson and Henrik Stenson have all but made it a two-man race for the Claret Jug.
(Editor’s Note: We’re throwing out every possible anti-jinx known to man this weekend. If you can think of any others, please let us know.)

The implications are pretty clear for both players. If Stenson closes it out, he’ll break through for his first major win and further solidify his place as one of the top players in the world. If Mickelson wins, well, a 6th major and a 2nd claret jug, all after tying the lowest round in major history, would be a pretty nice addition for one of the greatest champions in golf history.
A few other notes to watch for in what’s sure to be an epic bout:
XR 16 For The Win: One clear winner in all of this is the XR 16 Family of Drivers. Stenson is gaming an XR 16 and Mickelson is using a Sub Zero that’s been in his bag all season. Assuming one of them gets it done, this will be the 3rd major ALREADY for the XR line after Danny Willett’s victory at Augusta and Lydia Ko’s win at the ANA Inspiration.

Make It Another For Odyssey: Odyssey is the #1 Putter in Golf, the #1 Putter at Royal Troon this week, and it’s in great position to add yet another major championship. Phil is gaming the Odyssey Versa #9 model that he used to win his first Claret Jug in 2013, and Stenson is gaming a White Hot XG #7H that’s helped him win a lot of big tournaments and cash a lot of big checks over the years.

Short Game Showcase: Both Henrik and Phil have made incredible saves around the green this week. Stenson is using MD3 Milled Wedges 52* and 58* that have come in handy on pitch shots and out of the deep bunkers, and Lefty has leaned on his Mack Daddy PM Grind Wedges (56*, 60*, 64*) to pull of some of the shots that only he is capable of playing.
Whatever Happens, It’s Going To Be An Unforgettable Sunday: We can’t wait!
