Comments:

I love all attributes of this driver. I really enjoy the glossy finish on the crown, and enjoy the slight pattern you can see on it. The sound and feel of the driver is perfect. It’s not “loud” the way certain companies’ drivers are, but you still absolutely know when you flushed one. The adjustability is very easy with the dual cogs as well as the sliding weight. It is also very effective. I was getting a slight fade with the club in the standard setting, but when we moved to the “D” setting and moved the weight towards draw, my ball flight straightened out noticeably.

Comments:

I played the Callaway XR16 driver all year, which I really enjoyed. For me, the GBB Epic was slightly longer and just as forgiving. The face is extremely friendly on off-center strikes and shows its high MOI. For control, I played 45 holes with this driver over the course of two days, and missed two fairways total, both on the first day. For my final 18 holes, I hit every single fairway. Quite a few of these were less than perfect swings, but the club’s forgiveness took care of it for me and they found the fairway anyway. The GBB Epic has outstanding forgiveness and control combined with great distance. As for launch, I found it to be slightly lower launching than my XR16 when set to the same settings but still a nice mid-high flight. The ball-flight was also a bit more penetrating with the GBB Epic compared to the XR16 for me.

EPIC SUB ZERO DRIVER-Sole weights and OPTI-FIT Hosel Adjustments:

I put the sliding weight to full draw, and played my 10.5 degree at +2 and “D” on the opti-fit hosel for best success.

OVERALL

PROS:

Great distance but also wonderful forgiveness. This club really has the best of both worlds.

CONS:

None that I can think of so far.

Summary of My Experience with the Club

I love it. I took it straight from my fitting to the course for 45 holes in a high-pressure tournament. Despite it being a brand new club, I had complete confidence standing over the ball knowing that if I put even a decent swing on it, I would get very good results. On center strikes, this club is long. Really long. The technology 100% works. I truly believe the GBB Epic can help golfers of all ability levels.
