Inside the Numbers: Epic Off to Insane Start on Tour
The GBB Epic is already off to an amazing start on Tour. The immediate conversion has been unbelievable, the performance has been outstanding, and the best part is that we’re just getting started.
Here are just a few reasons why 2017 is going to be an Epic year:
59: The number Adam Hadwin shot last week in his very first event with a GBB Epic. He became just the 8th player ever to shoot 59 or lower on the PGA Tour. Here are the clubs he used to do it.
60: What Kevin Kisner carded in his first week with the driver during the 3rd round at the Sony Open. Our Tour Reps said that “Kiz” gained 3 mph in ball speed once he put Epic in the bag.
94: The percentage of players who immediately put a GBB Epic or GBB Epic Sub Zero into play at the Sony Open, the first full field event of 2017. It’s the highest initial conversion ever for a new Callaway Driver and the numbers continue to increase by the week.
20: GBB Epic Drivers in play last week in Palm Springs. That long list included Phil Mickelson, Hadwin, Berger, Marc Leishman, Ollie Schniederjans, Wes Bryan, Emiliano Grillo, Danny Lee, and Patrick Rodgers (among others).
And on the European Tour, some of the top ranked players in the world like Danny Willett, Branden Grace, Alex Noren, Kiradech Aphibarnrat, and 2018 Ryder Cup Captain Thomas Bjorn are all gaming one of the new Epic drivers. In fact, there were 27 Epic Drivers in play at the first European Tour event of 2917. Our new LPGA staffer Michelle Wie is also gaming one of the new drivers.
Why The Pros Love Epic
Many of our players have said that this is the best sounding driver that they have ever hit. The great dispersion with Epic gives them a good feel for the carry distance that they could rely on for each tee shot, which is critical for all the tight landing areas that they hit into on Tour.
As for the Epic Sub Zero driver, players commented that they especially liked the shot-shaping and the level of forgiveness that they got from a Sub Zero design, whether they put the weights forward or in the back.
The performance for GBB Epic is unreal, and our staffers are going to win a whole bunch of tournaments with this driver in the bag. You can count on that!
