If you ask anyone that doesn’t know Wesley Bryan very well if they’re surprised at his RBC Heritage victory, they’ll likely give an affirmative yes. Ask someone who knows Wesley and they’ll say they saw it coming from a mile away (albeit a bit pleasantly surprised also).
That’s because those familiar with the 27-year old South Carolina native know how poised, confident and talented he is. In just his first year on the PGA TOUR, Bryan proved his mettle once again by outplaying some of the game’s best in crunch time — in front of the home crowd — to collect the biggest win of his life (and this is a guy who had three monster wins last year).
The win secures Bryan’s Tour card for the next two years but more importantly, it gets him into the field at Augusta National next year (he currently resides in Augusta).
