"DISTANCE CONTROL IN THE SCORING ZONE IS EVERYTHING. MORE CONTROL MEANS MORE BIRDIES. AND I LIKE BIRDIES."
Low Compression For Incredibly Soft Feel
The Dual SoftFast Core lets you compress the ball on iron shots for long, straight flight. And it has amazing feel around the greens.
Fast Ball Speeds
Callaway is the only golf ball company that has the new Dual SoftFast Core™. It’s engineered for fast ball speeds with low spin for players needing spin reduction to optimize their launch conditions off the tee.
Total Performance Through The Bag
The 4-piece construction, mantle layer and Tour Urethane Cover all combine for even more control throughout the bag, especially with your scoring clubs from 100 yards and in. Now you have even more spin for aggressive shots into the green.
Dual SoftFast™ Core
Reduces spin off the tee and and provides fast ball speeds for more distance. The low compression core lets you compress the ball on iron shots for long, straight approach shots with incredibly soft feel.
Helps retain energy of the core and provides spin and control with the scoring clubs.
Tour Urethane Cover
Our softest, most durable cover grips the clubface for excellent control around the green.
Optimizes lift and reduces drag to help increase distance.

Where I noticed the most difference was on approach shots and chipping around the green. They felt a tad softer and spun a bit more. Holed a 15 yard bunker shot. Actually spun back into the hole. On full approach shots I saw a a bit more stopping power.
Love the Chrome Soft ** 2016 can't wait to stock up…. seems to be a more penetrating flight for me off all clubs and spins great!!
…the most recent round I was able to put it head to head with the OG chrome soft. I was seeing just a bit more distance with the ** and just a bit more spin too.
Was able to test out the new ball today. Very nice feel on my approach shots. Definitely seems to have more spin, stops quick on greens. Distance off tee is pretty good. Being in the North East and cool, this ball was traveling as good if not better than other guys drives in my group. I will be playing it again tomorrow. I am a fan of this ball already.
…had the opportunity to play the ball yesterday and was impressed with the changes I noticed. Off the tee the new CS seemed to fly a bit further and provide more control w/ my BB Apha 815 (see what we did there). The area I was most pleased with was around the green! It grabbed more w/ my MD3 wedges (and another plug) and had amazing feel off of my WORKS #7CH (and one last time). Overall, very excited about the future of this newest addition to the Callaway family.
I’m impressed with it around the greens!
They were great and exceeded my expectations they had everything you want in a golf ball, except they still go out of play just as easy as any other ball when I hit a bad shot. I found the cover to be extremely durable while still maintaining a very soft feel and touch around the greens. I look forward to playing them next year.
The distance is on par if not slightly better than the previous version - the green side spin with wedges and spin on approach shots is there. I'm consistently seeing a one hop and stop action or a slight back up from the pitch mark - feel is so subjective and one I have trouble describing, but I didn’t come away with any negative thoughts from the previous version. If anything it felt "softer" around the greens and putting.
I received mine and have played three rounds with the new CS ball. Its hard to believe, but the ball feels softer and is a little longer than the original. I noticed a little more control with the new ball as well. Looking forward to another great year with the Chrome Soft golf ball.
Thanks for sending me the Proto balls! So I put the Chrome Soft Proto into play at TPC Scottsdale at the end of December to compete against my two high school golfing sons. Oldest plays <company X competitive golf ball> and the youngest is <company Y>’s #1Ball fan with the new <company Y competitive golf ball> (picture a garage full of competing boxes). I don't know about spin into the greens or from the tee box. All I know is I hit lots of fairways with appreciated distance and enough up and downs to win by 1 shot over each of them. Normally I have to use my "lip" wedge to gain an advantage. Thanks again.
Thanks for the proto balls. Got a chance to play them on my home course over the Holidays. Great hop and stop with irons and a little back-up on some wedges. Seemed to notice a little more spin and bite around the greens which I like. Same soft, controllable feel off my Odyssey Versa 7 putter. Definitely no distance loss and had a couple drives that were among my longest on those holes. As a Chrome Soft player this past year, I am Completely satisfied with the new version and will continue to play them when released.
