5 Questions On Big Bertha Hybrids

By September 24, 2014Headlines, Product News

Here are answers to 5 questions about the new Big Bertha Hybrids, available at retail 10/17.

1. What is the main storyline with the Big Bertha Hybrids?

Well, for the first time ever, we’re putting adjustability into a Callaway Hybrid. They have “Big Bertha” in their name so you know that they’re going to be long. They’re also easy to launch with maximum forgiveness built in. All that mixed together is a pretty sweet combination.

2. Adjustability in a hybrid, eh? How does it work?

This is the first time we’re bringing out adjustability in a hybrid – golfers can choose from 8 different settings with the Optifit Hosel to adjust loft, lie and shot shape. So you can tune your loft and your draw or fade bias to go with all that distance.

3. Where does all that distance come from?

The powerful Hyper Speed face is the key component to creating “Bertha Long” distance in these hybrids. It provides higher speeds all across the face — if you hit the sweet spot it’s going to be faster, and if it’s an off-center impact, it’s still going to be faster. The technology makes it so that you get speed off of every shot.

4. What makes these hybrids so easy to launch?

Distance is always great to have in a hybrid, and these clubs need to be versatile and playable for a lot of different shots as well. So we added an Internal Standing Wave that helps make the center of gravity low and forgiving and by doing that, we can give golfers the full package of high MOI for maximum forgiveness and ball speed. When you have both forgiveness and ball speed, it’s a lot easier to launch high, long shots.

5. Anything else you want to tell us?

If we had to describe it in one sentence, we’d say they that the Big Bertha Hybrid is our first adjustable hybrid, is Bertha Long, and delivers maximum forgiveness.

They’re available here at and at retailers nationwide on 10/17. These are $249 each and offered in 3-7 hybrid (19°, 22°, 25°, 28°, 31°).
