Henrik Stenson put a new XR 16 Driver and two new XR 16 Fairway Woods in his bag, and that’s bad news for everybody else this week in Abu Dhabi. In his first round with the driver and fairway woods, Stenson carded eight birdies, shot a 7-under 65 and finished the day in 2nd place in an absolutely loaded field.
And have we mentioned that he couldn’t even MAKE A SWING until last week after having offseason knee surgery? Yeah, so much for knocking off the rust.
FYI, Henrik Stenson was dialed in today. ? https://t.co/k6Ui2UEbX0

Stenson tore it up on Thursday, and our Tour Reps expected him to go low with the new XR clubs. “He worked with them last weekend and really liked them, so he brought them to Abu Dhabi,” Callaway Tour Rep, Ian Garbutt said. “Henrik put all three of the clubs on Trackman against his gamers and the ball speeds and spin dispersion were much better.”
Stenson has joined a long list of players who are already using the new XR 16 Driver, including Danny Lee, Matt Every, and Marc Leishman, to name a few. And we’ve got a hunch that he’s going do some big things with it this year.
Last week Stenson told me he hadn't taken full swings (knee surgery) since Nov.
Naturally, opens w/ 67 in Abu Dhabi pic.twitter.com/8A2OQDOuw0
