Winner’s Bag: Aaron Wise Cruises at Byron Nelson

Callaway Staffer Aaron Wise closed out the AT&T Byron Nelson with a final round 65, claiming his first PGA TOUR victory. The 21-year-old dismantled Trinity Forest Golf Club outside of Dallas, hitting 89 percent of fairways and 91 percent of the greens in regulation for the week en route to a new tournament scoring record (65-63-68-65).

Wise, who won the 2016 NCAA Men’s Golf Championship as a sophomore at the University of Oregon, is among a talented fleet of young Callaway staffers having success on Tour, which includes Si Woo Kim, Ollie Schniederjans, Patrick Rodgers, Sam Burns, Maverick McNealy, and Talor Gooch.

“It feels amazing, you know. It’s incredible,” Wise said after his victory. “I felt like when it rained today, I was really going to tear the course up just because it allowed me to hit driver, which is my strength, and, you know, I got that Rogue driver and absolutely love it. I’m smashing it. I really took it apart with the driver today.”

Here are all the Callaway clubs Wise won with…

Aaron first put the Rogue in play at the Sony Open in January, the first full field event of 2018. Wise has said that Rogue is his favorite club in the bag and that it’s also the best driver he’s ever played.  Wise’s 402 yard drive on Saturday was the longest drive in the field this week.

O-Works Red V-Line Fang CH Putter

In his last start at the Wells Fargo Championship (where he finished runner-up), Aaron put in a new O-Works Red V-Line Fang CH Putter. He first tested the O-Works Red Putter at the Valspar Championship.  In testing, he particularly liked how well he could aim it with the head shape and red finish.  He also told Tour Reps that with the alignment, feel, and the roll from the Microhinge Insert, he could make more putts.
