Behind-the-Scenes: Norman Xiong at Callaway HQ

We’re sure you’ve heard the news by now: San Diego native Norman Xiong is officially a Callaway Staffer! (And if you haven’t, well, you just did.)

We had the pleasure of recently hosting the 19-year-old phenom at Callaway HQ and welcoming him the only way we know how; with a full day of action. We’re talkin’ photoshoots, videos, interviews, podcasts, lunch with CEO Chip Brewer…and everything in between.

We had our best and only two photographers Chris Otsen and Cliff Endsley follow him throughout the day…

Norman arrives early at the Ely Callaway Performance Center, located just a mile away from HQ.
Little does he know the gauntlet of activities we had planned for him.

When the Rogue staff bag is ready and waiting, you know you made it.

Speaking of Rogue…
Me: “Hey Norman, how far does your driver go?”
Norman: “Like 330.”
Build Yours Here.

Fun Fact: Norman won six of his final 14 collegiate events at the University of Oregon
and received The Haskins Award for most outstanding men’s college golfer.

Lunch with CEO Chip Brewer generally involves a lot of laughs.

Shooting with the TravisMathew crew requires focus and cool shirts.

Video Editor Alexis Eader is the nicest person you’ll ever meet…when she’s not reflecting sun in your eyes.

Golf reporter/podcaster Geoff Shackelford dropped by to record a quick hit for TV/digital.

A break from the sun but not for his vocal cords. Norman sits in with AJ and Nate for an episode of
The Fitting Room Podcast inside Callaway’s state-of-the-art podcast studio.

“Panda” was Norman’s nickname when he was younger. So it only made sense during our studio photoshoot with him…

Sr. Marketing Manager Ethan Ganot¬†played the role of Norman’s caddie for the day, escorting him all around
campus and keeping him on schedule.¬†Here they make their way through the Pro Tour Dept., where Ethan’s
clubs are absolutely not built.

We’ve seen Norman react calmly under pressure on a golf course, but can he compose himself in front
of an entire company? Callaway CMO Harry Arnett put him to the test.

I’m not crying, you’re crying! Norman embraces his family as he’s officially announced as a member of Team Callaway.

Well, NOW it’s official. Welcome to the #1 equipment company in golf Norman!

Thanks for stopping by dude. Couldn’t be more thrilled to have ya!
